1. Why is everyone so afraid that there is a such thing as witchcraft? Why is that what they assume it is?

When Hale first came to visit john and Elizabeth proctor, did he come over with the intention of taking elizabeth? Did he know she was convicted of witchcraft?
1) How come Abigail and Tituba confess to working with the devil when all they did previously was swear against it?

Why was Act II Scene 2 removed from the original play when being published/performed? Is this significant in any way to the plot or development of the characters?

ReplyDelete1. Since they live such strict religious lives by the bible, why do they believe that when you confess to a sin and accuse someone of their own wrongdoings at the same times as admirable? Why do they believe it is the most effective way to ask for forgiveness?
