  1. 1) Transcendentalists believe that people shouldn't get too fixated on technology and should be as productive as possible.
2)The Transcendentalists believed that one should always be trying to simplify their life because a simple life is a pure life. People are happier when they live a simple life, then when they re constantly overwhelmed with technologies.
3)The Transcendentalists believe that each of us create our own reality which causes our lives to be based on the decisions in which we make. If you make wise decisions then your reality will be good.
4)The Transcendentalists believe that technology is slowly eliminating our relationship with nature. Thoreau commented on the fact that he would watch the cars drive by rather than the slow rising sun in the background.
5)The Transcendentalists believe in forming societies of their own because they can share ideas and be with people who believe in the same things that they do.
6)Transcendentalists believe that extravagant living was not a good idea although they had some luxuries they believed you should have the bare minimum so that you can live your life with a clear mind and your priorities straight.
7)The Transcendentalists believe that living with only what you can not live without will better your life. They believe this because when you eliminate excess things from your life, it will become better.
8)The Transcendentalists believe that people need to be separated from technology because it is only ruining our relationship with nature and how we do things everyday.
    9) The Transcendentalists believed that we have to follow our intuitions because they will lead us to good things
    10) The Transcendentalists believed in being one with nature because that is where you can think the most clearly and be the most spiritual.

  6. Transcendentalists belief: Materialism

1.People do not always have to look into novelty because what people have now may be more precious and helpful.
2.People should focus on the fundamental roles of an object, instead of its added values, because there is no need to extend the meaning of that object beyond the meaning it is made for.
3.Living with necessities only, would bring in most achievements/ meaningful experiences, because one is not distrated from the outside materials
4.All mankind, uncivilized, poor or well-educated, are somewhat similar in nature, because everyone is equal.
5.Emphasis of simplicity would help people to find the meaning of life, because "details" around us distract our perception to the environment, and even gradually cut off our relation with each other.
6.The Transcendentalists believe that those that are impoverished are better off than others, because they have less opportunities to indulge in material living.
7.An object that you are familiar with is a better representation of you than an extravagant version of the object which you just bought, because someone that uses something once are "no better than the wooden horses to hang the clean clothes on."
8.The Transcendentalists believe that luxury keeps people from progressing because materials mislead people’s emphasis of life.
9.The transcendentalists believe that your ability to let go of material possessions makes you stronger, because you know what are the true importances to you and you are unlikely to miss yourself in the material world.
    10. Things that people get from their own work are most important to human nature, because people have the experiences of making them.

  7. I'm sorry that this is late but my wifi has been out all day and we just fixed it! These are mine and Maddey's sentences but we don't have Lauren's 3 because she was absent. These are as close to the original as possible but I don't have Maddey's sentences word for word because she wrote them on a different sheet of paper. Again sorry for the inconvenience with the whole wifi issue, I hope it's not too much of a hassle! Thank you and I will see you in class tomorrow!

    Individuality:

    2. Transcendentalists believe that you should explore your mind, thoughts, and values because that can open up new opportunities and allow you to find yourself. (excerpt #2)
    3. Transcendentalists believe that you should do what you want to do, rather than what others want. You can be guided by their ideas but in the end it is you who decides what to do with your life and what path you will take. (excerpt #3)
4.Transcendentalists believe that you shouldn't let your memory be in control because it can become a "monster" that holds you in the past and in turn hold you back from your greatness. What you believe now won't always be what you believe in the future. (excerpt #5)
    5. Transcendentalists believe that you need to figure out life on your own and it is necessary to have original thoughts and ideas. (excerpt #7)
6.Transcendentalists believe that it's okay if not everyone understands you and you shouldn't let that stop you from being you because you would be holding back great potential. (excerpt #6)
    7. Transcendentalists believe that you should never let anyone tear you down for being you and you should never be ashamed to be different. You shouldn't do things just because everyone else does them and never judge someone for going against the grain. (excerpt #1)
