The Transcendentalists believe…
1. In a simplified life, and the only way to gain that is by getting rid of all your burdens and starting over.
2. Being in touch with nature is a key in your most simplified life.
3. Humans grow like nature does, which means starting from something small, and transforming into something more.
4. Nature has the answers of the world, because it is untouched by technology and modern things.
5. Making it on your own with the natural resources around you causes a personal cleansing.
6. Paying more attention to your natural surroundings, because then you will learn the essence of life.
7. Through nature we are one universal soul, and become spiritually united.
8. People are at their best when they are self-reliant and independent, because they can learn to not be distracted by modern luxuries.
9. In a mental state called “newness” and that it is our job to create a new and improved generation.
10. In the need for the unexpected and taking the time to explore the unknown of the wilderness.
1. The Transcendentalists believe that everyone must find what they revel in doing and not base those interests off of other people’s. However, if you are interested in something that another person is as well, you can pursue that interest.
ReplyDelete2. The Transcendentalists believe that self-reliance is very important and you have to be able to trust yourself and your emotions because living in the past and letting your memories control you is pointless.
3. The Transcendentalists believe time and energy is wasted on small details in life and time alone is needed to live life fully. However, you do not need to isolate yourself, like Thoreau did, in order to get the most out of life.
4. The Transcendentalists believe the mind is vast and must be explored and that takes a lot of time but is important in becoming true to yourself.
5. The Transcendentalists believe complexity is good and people shouldn’t be able to know and understand everything about you right away because that means you’re different from the norm or what people would expect of you.
6. The Transcendentalists believe technology takes away from what is pure and important in life and time without it is vital. However, technology is necessary and unavoidable.
7. The Transcendentalists believe it is their job to help create a new generation with a healthy and ambitious state of mind which would cause people to be able to find themselves and distance themselves from unimportant details.
8. The Transcendentalists believe that civil disobedience is very powerful and important in making life more fair. This allows the people to have more control, the government to have less, and lets the natural laws of the world rule.
9. The Transcendentalists believe that who you decide you are/what you decide you like is not permanent and actually changes quite often because we wouldn’t be being genuine if we only decided on one thing for our lives.
10. The Transcendentalists believe in being one with the natural world because living in nature is pure and allows you to deeply explore the Earth and yourself.

10 Society is a parasitic arrangement which causes you to be sucked in and distracts you from whats important.
Transcendentalists belief: Materialism
ReplyDelete1.People do not always have to look into novelty because what people have now may be more precious and helpful.
2.People should focus on the fundamental roles of an object, instead of its added values, because there is no need to extend the meaning of that object beyond the meaning it is made for.
3.Living with necessities only, would bring in most achievements/ meaningful experiences, because one is not distrated from the outside materials
4.All mankind, uncivilized, poor or well-educated, are somewhat similar in nature,because everyone is equal.
5.Emphasis of simplicity would help people to find the meaning of life, because "details" around us distract our perception to the environment, and even gradually cut off our relation with each other.
6.The Transcendentalists believe that those that are impoverished are better off than others, because they have less opportunities to indulge in material living.
7.An object that you are familiar with is a better representation of you than an extravagant version of the object which you just bought, because someone that uses something once are "no better than the wooden horses to hang the clean clothes on."
8.The Transcendentalists believe that luxury keeps people from progressing because materials mislead people’s emphasis of life.
9.The transcendentalists believe that your ability to let go of material possessions makes you stronger, because you know what are the true importance to you and you are unlikely to miss yourself in the material world.
10. Things that people get from their own work are most important to human nature, because people have the experiences of making them.
